ABSTRACT.
A continuous ECM profile (strong acid concentration) has been measured along the 2191 m of ice core recovered at Byrd Station, Antarctica, in 1968. The ECM profile reveals continuous and systematic seasonal changes which are used for dating the ice core back to 50 000 BP.
